We are partnered with an industry leading Columbus, OH based manufacturing company in search of a Cost Accountant to add to their team. The ideal candidate will be a driven self-starter, highly motivated and comfortable working with limited supervision while delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and interact comfortably with colleagues and outside partners at all levels throughout the plant in multiple areas of Operations.
 
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting and Finance, or other related field is required, and you possess a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or a related field.  CPA or other professional association certification is a plus, but not required, as is knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing.  You have working knowledge of Oracle (or related MRP/ERP system) and are proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.  You possess the ability to use Business Objects for data management and analysis, as well as, the ability to perform root cause analysis and drive problems to resolution.
 
 
Key performance areas
  • Conduct standard cost analysis and maintenance.
  • Assist Finance with month-end close of General Ledger.
  • Analyze costs, production variances, bills of materials and other cost accounting functions.
  • Evaluate and analyze profitability.
  • Create and manage standard reporting for costing at the site consistent with the business unit.
  • Interact with the supply chain management team to ensure accurate cost data.
  • Assist in preparing/analyzing monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Assume other Finance, Accounting and Business Analysis responsibilities as determined.
  • Support external audit process by preparation of schedules and interaction with audit team.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Lead liaison between Finance and IT for Oracle and GL Wand implementation, training and problem resolution
  • Maintain GL Wand mapping tables and provide support for GL Wand report creation
