We are partnered with an industry leading Columbus, OH based manufacturing company in search of a Manufacturing Process Engineer to add to their team. The Manufacturing Engineer will be a driven self-starter, highly motivated and comfortable working with limited supervision while delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and interact comfortably with colleagues and outside partners at all levels throughout the plant in multiple areas of Operations. You are a collaborative team player, with a proven background in leading and motivating cross-functional teams, a mentor to the more inexperienced engineer and strong negotiation and project management skills.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify improvements
  • Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process
  • Design and develop new products and product mock-ups alongside the creative team
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure cohesion
  • Establish an effective and efficient work sequence
  • Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems
  • Develop standardized design criteria across all product line
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes;
 
 
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science
  • Skilled in statistical process control methods (DOE / capability analysis / tolerances)
  • Proven record of accomplishment showing significant business impact, leadership, and facilitation skills 
  • Demonstrated implementation of lean principles or six sigma methodologies are a requirement (Six Sigma Green or Black Belt)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical manufacturing environment with increasing responsibility
