Summary of Responsibilities:
The Production Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all production activities and meeting customer requirements.  The Production Manager will plan, coordinate, organize, and control manufacturing to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products at the correct quantities, at the right time, minimizing inventory while meeting delivery commitments.  The Production Manager must present a positive image of the organization while facilitating general communication and flow of information to all departments regarding production needs, problems and recommended solutions.
Essential Functions:
·       Maintain organization of production area and resources.
·       Maintain work orders in Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) system and control scheduling of production and repairs.
·       Gather production Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), assess performance, and report status as required.
·       Monitor production costs and implement changes as required.
·       Identify opportunities for improvement and use lean manufacturing concepts to implement change.
·       Work with Human Resources to hire and train new production employees.
·       Lead and manage existing production workforce to include training and annual reviews.
·       Oversee repair process.
·       Maintain and ensure compliance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) procedures.
·       Work with engineering to transition new products to productions.
·       Assist in budget planning of required production resources.
Education and Experience Requirements:
·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.  Degree in Business, Operations, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
·       3-5 years experience in operations with a supervisory role.
·       Deep understanding of lean manufacturing concepts including 5-S, visual management, and single piece flow production, with a proven ability to implement these concepts.
·       Experience with Microsoft Office to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
·       Understanding of Six Sigma preferred.
·       Able to reach and interpret drawings/schematics.
