The Quality Assurance Technician conducts day to day testing and performance evaluation of coated and converted materials. Operates within the guidelines of the Quality Management System and ISO 9001:2015, recommends and participates in corrective actions where gaps, deficiencies, and nonconformities are identified.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts product performance and attribute testing, and communicates and acts on results accordingly
  • Supports all manufacturing activities from receiving, coating, testing, auditing, finishing, and shipping as needed
  • Quarantines materials based on acceptability and proactively identifies other affected materials
  • Ensures individual customer requirements are met and recommends steps to prevent errors where gaps are identified
  • Test and evaluate materials and processes to determine compliance, and initiates documented corrective actions for out-of-specification conditions
  • Regularly investigates nonconformities as assigned and facilitates corrective actions
  • Completes all assigned activities in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and Quality Management System requirements
  • Assists with overall administration support for the Quality Management System as assigned: Validation, document control (data sheets, machine specifications, raw material specifications), training, data compilation, internal audits, corrective actions, certificate of analysis or conformance creation as required
  • Troubleshoots possible root causes when corrective action requests are assigned
  • Regularly mines and analyzes data to identify trends in performance. Subsequently recommends corrective actions
  • Writes work instructions as assigned to correct known deficient conditions, or to prevent recurrence of defects
  • Recommends work instruction and procedure changes to Quality and Operations management when products or processes continue to fail
  • Provides quality document training (SOPs, WIs, forms) to employee owners under direction of the Quality Manager
  • Prioritizes activities based on operational schedules, shipping requirements and document quality documentation
 
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D required
  • 5 plus years in quality control or quality assurance role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cGMP or ISO requirements
  • Ability to perform intermediate functions in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts)
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organizational skills are required.
  • Knowledge of packaging, printing, web operations a plus
  • Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift
