The Manufacturing Controls Engineer plans, designs, and supports manufacturing processes and automation equipment within the industrial plant. They will be responsible for maximizing efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. They will determine parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. 
  • Create, implement, maintain and improve capable production processes, methods and sequences to achieve safety, quality, throughput and cost targets for automation Equipment
  • Develop and maintain production standards using work measurement techniques such as time/motion studies, work content studies, and line-balancing.
  • Analyze production costs to identify and implement improvement efforts.
  • Conduct make vs buy evaluations to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Creates and maintains manufacturing documentation as required by the various operating procedures
  • Work with Production Associates and Manufacturing Supervisors to identify, prioritize, and quickly resolve potential safety and ergonomic risks in the manufacturing process to insure a safe work environment.
  • Creates new ISO compliant processes, procedures, and systems as corrective action or for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in Simultaneous Engineering to assure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
  • Train others and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to implement change.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned; i.e. special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.
  • MUST HAVE Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in similar role and environment
  • Must have experience with new PLC Design and Programming and Integrated production systems
  • Experience with Workcell integration including equipment, controls, automation and network interface
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Progressive and proven experience with Lean principles and continuous improvement skills
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
  • Ability to work independently and is self-motivated
  • Additional Skills that would be helpful for the individual in the position to achieve success
  • Experience with Steel Tube bending, forming and welding processes
  • Knowledge of  Charging, Leak Testing, painting and packaging processes
  • AutoCAD Software
  • Project management experience
  • Refrigeration experience
  • Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge
