We are excited to partner with an industry leading manufacturing company in the Appleton WI area in search of an experienced and qualified Production Supervisor. Our client offers a very competitive compensation package, a phenomenal culture and room for advancement.
 
The Production Supervisor will set productivity standards and measures overall performance.  This includes implementing cost reduction strategies, team and employee development, and creating a positive culture. 
 
 
Responsibilities of Production Supervisor:
  • Create an environment which is conducive to high employee morale and is viewed as an excellent place to work
  • Drive customer service within all areas of the department. Communicate quality, cost, delivery, and safety metrics to the production team.
  • Champion employee involvement which generates results and creates results which satisfy the businesses annual and long-range plans.
  • Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. Work to identify successful communication methods between shifts where applicable.
  • Develop and implement KPI’s tied to the P&L to drive measurable results.
  • Build relationships, be visible, communicate, encourage creativity and innovation.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to maintain and improve the manufacturing environment to harmoniously respond to changing customer needs and demands through facilitating area layout, processing plans and selecting equipment to simplify and focus manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate and encourage effective communications to personnel at all levels and training employees/team members to resolve conflict in a fair, consistent and empowered manner within a team environment.
  • Develop & support Team Leaders and assess team members’ performance and goals regularly, encouraging the achievement of effective goals.
  • Assist/support teams in the utilization of all available resources.
  • Participate in committees/teams as required.
  • Create/maintain superior team safety awareness.
  • Provide reports on critical information.
  • Understands how our factory production system develops and fulfills products.
  • Builds key relationships with employees and leadership team.
  • Builds a network of inter-company peers and subject matter experts for consultation on best practices for managing people and for system/process efficiency.
  • Will work closely with support staff and Human Resources.
  • Maintains key contacts with businesses to identify information and resources that provide superior cost, quality, and delivery of our product to our customers
 
 Qualifications needed for Production Supervisor:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous production management experience
  • Demonstrated strong leadership capacity/capability
  • Demonstrated understanding of the P&L statement and manufacturing costs
  • Proven ability to apply ITW principles in a manufacturing environment
  • Skilled at performance management; providing formal and informal feedback to employees
  • Exhibit encouragement of diverse ideas, focus on coaching/developing strengths of team members and facilitate effective communication between shifts
  • Be customer-focused with management, support staff, customers and suppliers; understand how the business functions link together to support the customer (i.e. engineering, materials, and sales)
  • Experience driving employee involvement/engagement and encouraging creativity
  • Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Macola, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency
  • Demonstrate the use of a systemic situation analysis and root-cause problem resolution process
