The Electrical Supervisor will construct, maintain, repair, and inspects electric power, lighting, and communication systems as appropriate on the worksite and will need to provide general supervision to staff and electrical contractors on related duties or projects.
 
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Plan wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, as well as control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit. Pull wiring through conduit. Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps. Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor. Install grounding leads. Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with test instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Inspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to international specifications or local electrical codes. Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Troubleshoot, modify and edit PLC and HMI for automation equipment.
  • Study production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. Analyze and resolve work problems. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Employee may have sole responsibility for meeting deadlines.
  • Ensure all processes, procedures, and documentation is ISO compliant.
 
GENERAL SKILLS:
  • Total manufacturing facility maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical Integrity systems and requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Computer Based Maintenance Management Systems.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Mandatory: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of advanced training, education, and work experience with all types and varied electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI
  • Proven Leadership experience of 3+ years with related training preferred.
  • Strong project management, and analytics, and cognitive skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Industrial Electrical Maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills, for document creations, and document sharing
  • Must be willing to and able to have frequent daily exposure to one or more disagreeable conditions, such as outdoor work in weather extremes, undesirable cleaning or repair assignments, moderately hazardous conditions including operating potentially dangerous equipment.
  • Must be On-Call 24/7 for emergency repairs.
