We are excited to partner with an industry leading manufacturing company in the Dayton OH area, in search of a Director of Operations for their facility.  The Director of Operations will lead all aspects of a world class manufacturing facility including production, supply chain, quality, and shipping/receiving.  The Director of Operations will implement LEAN and continuous improvement manufacturing standards for the plant and lead the company into sustained growth mode.  Our client offers a fantastic culture, career path along with a highly competitive salary, bonus opportunity and full benefits.
 
Responsibilities of Director of Operations:
 
·       Responsible for facility forecast, budgets, and meeting production, quality, shipping, and safety goals.
·       Responds to production problems and pursues / implements remedies to such problems.
·       Proven Team Builder, responsible for all manufacturing operations.
·       Provides guidance and leadership to all plant personnel.
·       Supervises, motivates and directs employees to obtain optimal productivity.
·       Ensures effective staffing, training, development of the organization as well as develops succession plans for future growth and stability.
·       Develops, manages and tracks operational metrics for the plant.
·       Responsible for overseeing Quality Assurance and Quality Control to ensure compliance.
·       Recruit, hire, manage, & develop personnel and ensure Staff is trained and provided tools & knowledge for future growth and opportunities.
·       Acts as a change agent, installing a culture of continuous improvement.
·       Participates on due diligence teams to evaluate potential acquisitions, when requested.
·       Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of finished goods, work in process and raw materials.
·       Acts as Operations liaison with OEM customers.
·       Ensures new product introductions are supported and executed to the established project plans.
·       Assumes responsibility for costs, and cost reduction initiatives & methods, and on-time Customer shipments
·       Works with Corporate departments to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
·       Provides short and long term objectives for the plant and executes to those objectives.
·       Promotes constant and effective communication channels at all levels to maintain a stable and productive work climate.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE for Director of Operations
 
·       Bachelor’s degree required/MBA preferred.
·       5-10 years of manufacturing management experience in technical environment.
·       Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interface with production and supervisory personnel.
·       Ability to create and thrive in a Continuous Improvement environment.
·       Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies and ERP and MRP experience
·       FDA, ISO, and other regulatory requirements
