We are working with a leading manufacturing company North of the Dayton, OH area looking to add a Production Planner to their team. This individual will develop daily production schedules for assigned equipment, meeting customer demand while balancing the Company objectives of outstanding customer service with overall Company inventory objectives.
  • Develop, update and publish a production schedule for specific pieces of equipment which minimizes changeover time, waste, inventory, and meets customer expectations for both stock and custom products
  • Revise schedules as necessary to meet changes in order expectations and/or accommodate unexpected production equipment issues
  • Attend daily production meetings and advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems
  • Schedules, coordinates and expedites movement of material between facilities, as required to meet the production schedule
  • Proactively communicates and works with the Customer Support, Marketing, Production, Quality Control, Engineering, and Sales departments daily, to meet changing customer needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage raw, in-process and finished inventory levels consistent with business objectives and requirements
  • Actively participate in cross-functional continuous improvement teams
  • Update and maintain accurate product master data information in the QAD ERP system
  • Daily monitoring of Work in Process and stock inventory levels
  • Strong ERP system experience; QAD a plus
  • Must understand Shop Routings and Bill of Materials fundamentals
  • Proficiency with MS-Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with leaders, peers, and machine operators as required
  • Minimum of 3 years machine scheduling experience required
  • Must be self-directed, detail oriented, reliable, and have strong initiative
  • Ability to work accurately and patiently while under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
  • B.A. or related experience required; APICS certification preferred
  • Capacity planning (level loading, Kanban, etc)
  • Knowledgeable in Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics
  • Experience in shop floor control is a plus
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing (JIT, TOC, Kaizen, etc.)
