If you are dependable, eager to learn, have strong basic math skills, and mechanically inclined, we may have the right entry level position for you. We are working with a locally owned business that has been in business for over 30 years and specializes in the production of machine parts for electric motors, pumps, and generators. They are looking for someone with some type of machine operation experience, or someone that has a strong aptitude to become a CNC Operator for an entry level opportunity that would go through their 2 year training program.

Responsibilities
Set up, adjust and operate grinding machines to grind a variety of products to their required finish and dimensional specifications.
  • Mostly repetitive work where set ups are standardized and prescribed as to rotational speed and feed, sequences and the type of abrasive to be used, will be required to stand at machine through the entire shift.
  • Inspects and measures parts using micrometers in order to determine conformance to specifications within .0003"
  • Perform all inspection functions as required by work instructions.
  • Report problems and confer with Engineers, production personnel, or others as needed to satisfactorily resolve quality problems.
  • Notify supervisor of Non-Conformances and support Internal Audit Teams.
Qualifications
  • Vocational School graduate in machine shop practices or equivalent, or High School Diploma Required
  • Will consider entry level candidates for a 2 year training program, during the program, the individual will be evaluated every 90 days for performance and increases
  • Must possess good mechanical aptitude
  • Must have good basic math skills and the ability to perform addition and subtraction quickly in your head, and have basic understanding of fractions
  • Must have enough physical stature to handle lifting up to 40 - 70 lbs regularly, larger parts are handled using a hoist.
  • Must have ability to understand Operating Procedures.
  • Must be able to train on 1st Shift and then transfer to 2nd (working 4, 10 hour days and having required OT on most Fridays of usually 8 hours)
  • Must be able to pass a background check and hair follicle drug screen
  • Must have stable work history
