We are partnered with an industry leading manufacturing company in the North Dayton OH area in search of an IT Director.  The IT Director will be responsible for defining strategic direction, driving innovation, managing hardware and software infrastructure, ensuring quality and providing technical, project and people leadership within the IT organization.  This role requires working in both an operational and strategic capacity and collaborating with leaders and peers across the organization to deliver IT products and services which align with the needs of the business.  Our client offers a very competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, full benefits and a phenomenal working culture and collaborative environment.
Essential Functions: 
  • Directs and manages the introduction, development, implementation and support of all aspects of the company’s IT infrastructure and applications, driving 99% uptime, to meet the business needs of all functional areas. 
  • Develops and implements written procedures, cross-training and management information to maintain required system availability for all foundational IT systems including ERP, backup, disaster recovery, data center operations, business continuity, data security, systems management, and automation for all key business processes.  
  • Performs computer system audits, hardware and software selection, and third party service provider selection and management to ensure quality and best ROI for investment spend. 
  • Provides strong project management and budget discipline to bring IT projects to completion on time and on budget with effective training and buy in from operating management.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and application systems' best practices to identify opportunities to strengthen foundational IT systems, reduce expenses and position the organization for growth.   
  • Collaborates on technology and business strategy with appropriate groups across the company and through continual research, recommends, develops and strategically plans Information Technology to support and meet company objectives. 
  • Directs implementation and execution of new/upgraded technology via well defined plans which include procedures, timelines and defined accountability throughout the organization.  Prepares annual operating budgets, forecasting and management information reports.  Provides leadership, insight and guidance on system lifecycles via a rolling three-year view of Company IT needs and requirements.
  • Determines appropriate IT organization structure, staffing requirements and resource criteria needed to meet current and future business needs with an ongoing focus on driving continuous improvement.
  • Directs, manages and develops a team of I/T managers and professionals.  Serves as a major resource to team members. Mentors less experienced members of the team. 
Special Skills and Key Qualifications:
  • Ability to position and implement ERP functionality to drive shop floor improvement.
  • Understanding of multi-site system/network infrastructure, ERP systems and an ability to integrate to an Executive Information System.
  • Commitment to continuous learning to keep up with constantly changing IT technology.
  • Demonstrated experience with process improvement and organizational change management.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a team.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Business of Management Information Systems.   Master’s Degree a plus.
  • PMP certification preferred. 
  • Demonstrated experience in recommending, designing, and implementing common infrastructure, systems, and processes in an Enterprise IT environment. 
  • Experience with implementation of mid-market ERP applications, including knowledge of manufacturing and quality control management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively identify, analyze and solve highly complex problems across multiple disciplines
