Design, develop and maintain robust, cost efficient manufacturing equipment and process consistent with lean manufacturing practices.
Understand all process and test requirements including the capability of processes and equipment.
Determine and develop process changes needed to meet quality and manufacturing efficiency goals.
Determine, specify and develop manufacturing equipment needed to meet quality and manufacturing efficiency goals. This included the design and implementation of such machinery.
Perform root cause and failure analysis as required.
Lead and participate in cost-down activities.
Apply lean manufacturing techniques.
Demonstrate ability to understand source(s) of variation and identify impact of tolerance stack up in assemblies by applying Six Sigma design and development strategies. Conduct design experiments. Understand application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R).
Participates in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to minimize product development costs and facilitate manufacturability.
Apply process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) .
Conducts design for manufacturing and value engineering initiatives as applicable.
Provides leadership team with summary reports detailing manufacturing efficiencies on a weekly basis.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Must have knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma techniques, GD&T, Root cause and failure analysis, and process FMEA
Fully conversant with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance. Experience implementing and using ASME Y14.5-2009

Capable of walking, sitting and/or standing throughout an eight-hour (or longer) day.

Works overtime when necessary, including evenings and weekends
Project Management Experience
Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
4 years experience in a precision manufacturing environment
Must be able to pass a comprehensive pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
8+ years experience in a precision manufacturing environment
Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering field
